Pune-based Suzlon Group, India’s premier renewable energy solutions provider, has clinched a significant order for a 193.2 MW wind power project from The KP Group. This project, located in Vagra and Vilayat in Bharuch district, Gujarat, will contribute to the state’s ambitious Wind-Solar Hybrid and State Transmission Utility (STU) tariff-based initiatives aimed at boosting the share of renewable energy. The order involves the supply of 92 S120 – 2.1 MW wind turbine generators, each equipped with a 140m Hybrid Lattice Tubular (HLT) tower.

Suzlon’s role encompasses the entire project lifecycle, from supply and supervision to commissioning. Additionally, the company will handle post-commissioning operations and maintenance services. The project is expected to yield a substantial environmental impact, providing electricity to approximately 1.25 lakh households and curtailing around 4.96 lakh tonnes of CO2 emissions annually.

Girish Tanti, Vice Chairman of Suzlon Group, expressed satisfaction with the conducive policy environment in Gujarat, emphasizing the order as a testament to India Inc’s commitment to building a sustainable future. JP Chalasani, CEO of Suzlon Group, lauded The KP Group’s commitment to renewable energy, highlighting Suzlon’s leading technology and capabilities in the wind energy sector.
