The Żnin wind farm in Poland, with 16 turbines generating 48 MW, is operational in just 17 months. This marks RWE’s 20th connected onshore wind project. Each turbine produces 3 MW, meeting the annual demand of 77,000 households. RWE secured a 15-year contract for difference (CfD) from the Polish government before construction, ensuring price stability for investors and consumers.

Katja Wünschel, CEO RWE Renewables Europe & Australia, said, “The commissioning of our 20th wind farm shows that RWE is growing steadily in Poland – one of our core markets – and that we are investing there for the long term. We are focusing on all important renewable technologies and are also massively expanding our portfolio in the field of photovoltaics. Close cooperation with the surrounding communities and long-term cooperation with local partners are particularly important to us, especially in the regional wind and solar business.”
