In a notable development, SANY, a key player in the renewable energy sector, has reached a significant milestone by registering its SI-16840: 4 MW wind turbine model in the Revised List of Models & Manufacturers (RLMM) published by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), Government of India, according to information from Sany Wind Energy India Pvt. Ltd.’s official LinkedIn page. This strategic move marks SANY’s successful foray into the dynamic Indian wind energy market.

The SI-16840 wind turbine boasts impressive specifications with a substantial rotor diameter of 166.8 meters and a towering hub-height of 139 meters. The turbine adheres to IEC S class standards and has obtained certification from UL (DEWI-OCC) in accordance with IS/IEC 61400-22, making it particularly suitable for low to medium wind regimes.

SANY has exhibited a commitment to innovation by developing a range of wind turbine platforms spanning from 3.X to 11.X, catering to both onshore and offshore wind projects. The company’s contributions have been instrumental in powering over 17 GW of wind projects globally.
