The French CRE (Commission for the Regulation of Energy) has published the results of the latest onshore wind bidding round (AO 15), totaling a capacity of 1,058.1 MW at an average price of 87.80 euros/MWh. RWE secured contracts for four projects, with a pro-rata capacity of 62.5 MW and a combined gross capacity of 78 MW. Three of these projects will be fully developed by RWE, while one will be co-developed with Vent du Nord, showcasing RWE’s ability to collaborate with other industry players. RWE ranks third in this bidding round, reaffirming its consistent performance.
The four projects secured by RWE are spread across the northern half of France. The first project, an extension of the Douiche wind farm in the Somme, will feature seven turbines with a total capacity of 28 MW. In the Hauts-de-France region, the Quatre Jallois wind farm in the Aisne department, co-owned by Vent du Nord, will have four turbines with a total capacity of 20.7 MW. The Chemin de Châlons wind farm, located in the Marne department, will consist of three turbines with a total capacity of 11 MW. Lastly, the Chemin de Saint Gilles wind farm, comprising five turbines with a total capacity of 18.4 MW, marks RWE’s first venture in the Vendée region.
