SUSI Partners, through its SUSI Asia Energy Transition Fund (SAETF), has entered into an agreement to acquire the 39 MW Dam Nai wind farm located in Vietnam’s Ninh Thuận province. The acquisition, made from Norwegian renewable energy company Scatec ASA, includes taking over Scatec’s Vietnam-based operating company to enable further expansion in the country.
The Dam Nai wind farm will now serve as a foundational asset for SAETF’s Sustainable Asia Renewable Assets (SARA) platform, which focuses on utility-scale renewable energy projects in Southeast Asia. The wind farm, along with the associated operating company, will provide a base for developing, constructing, and operating additional renewable energy projects in the surrounding regions.
As the first operational project within the SARA platform, Dam Nai strengthens SAETF’s position in the growing and liberalizing Vietnamese renewable energy market, allowing the firm to scale its grid-scale energy initiatives across Southeast Asia.
SAETF’s investment strategy is centered on sustainable energy infrastructure in Southeast Asia. The fund’s portfolio currently includes seven projects spanning Vietnam, the Philippines, Thailand, and Cambodia, with a primary focus on utility-scale renewable energy and distributed generation projects at commercial and industrial locations.
This acquisition marks a significant step forward in SAETF’s goal of expanding its renewable energy footprint across the region.
