Suzlon Group Reports Strong Q3 FY25 Results, Expands Wind Energy Capacity

Suzlon Group, India’s largest renewable energy solutions provider, has announced strong financial results for the third quarter of the financial year 2024-25 (Q3 FY25). The company reported significant growth in both revenue and profitability, underpinned by its focus on wind energy and strategic market expansion.

Continued Growth in Wind Energy

Girish Tanti, Vice Chairman of Suzlon Group, highlighted the company’s strategic emphasis on Commercial & Industrial (C&I) and Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) customers, sectors increasingly prioritizing sustainability. This shift is driving demand for Suzlon’s reliable and affordable wind energy solutions, positioning the company as a key partner in India’s transition to renewable energy. Tanti remarked, “We are building a future-ready business, focusing on cultivating strategic talent, leveraging technology, and expanding operational capacity.”

Manufacturing Capacity Expansion and Record Order Book

JP Chalasani, CEO of Suzlon Group, discussed the company’s progress in expanding its manufacturing capacity in India to meet its record-high order book of 5.5 GW. The company’s ramp-up strategy is on track, with manufacturing capacity at an optimal level to support the continued growth in wind energy.

“Our manufacturing capacity expansion in India is progressing as planned to fulfill our record-high order book,” said Chalasani. “With our ramp-up strategy on track, we can sustain momentum and play a pivotal role in advancing India’s renewable energy ambitions.”

Key Financial Performance

For Q3 FY25, Suzlon reported a significant profit growth, with net revenues of INR 2,969 crore, up from INR 1,553 crore in Q3 FY24. The company’s EBITDA margin also showed an improvement, reaching 16.8% compared to 15.9% in the same period last year. Net profit after tax increased to INR 388 crore, reflecting the company’s strong operational execution and financial health.

Product Innovation: S144 Wind Turbines Lead the Market

Suzlon’s S144 wind turbine continues to dominate the Indian market, accounting for 92% of its overall order book. The company achieved a major milestone with the delivery of its 300th S144 wind turbine. This product has received strong customer response and is central to Suzlon’s leadership in the Indian wind energy market.

Human Resources and Skills Development

Suzlon’s commitment to addressing the renewable energy talent gap was reinforced with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Andhra Pradesh Government. This initiative aims to launch India’s largest green skill program, creating around 12,000 green jobs and upskilling the workforce to support the growing renewable energy sector.

Wind Turbine Manufacturing Capacity Expansion

To meet the increasing demand for its wind energy solutions, Suzlon has expanded its manufacturing capabilities. The company has revamped its nacelle manufacturing facilities in Daman and Puducherry, reaching a total annual capacity of 4.5 GW. Additionally, two new production lines are being added at Suzlon’s Ratlam and Jaisalmer facilities, which will further scale operations and meet the growing order book.

Operational and Maintenance Services (OMS)

Suzlon’s Operational and Maintenance Services (OMS) business remains a key growth driver, consistently exceeding expectations. The company is investing in enhancing field safety and operational efficiency through collaborations with leading consultants, ensuring long-term sustainable growth in wind energy.
