SJVN recently concluded an auction for 600 MW of wind power projects, with a discovered tariff of ₹3.09 per kWh, marking a competitive milestone in India’s energy market. The tariffs for the auction ranged between ₹3.98 and ₹3.99 per kWh. Two companies emerged as winners, securing a combined capacity of 170 MW. Adyant Enersol (Datta Infra) won 70 MW by quoting ₹3.98 per kWh, while UPC Renewables secured 100 MW with a tariff of ₹3.99 per kWh.

The tender was initially floated by SJVN in March 2024, inviting bids for ISTS-connected wind power projects across India. The selected developers will sign a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with SJVN. The procured wind energy will be distributed to various state entities, though the specifics will be revealed later. SJVN holds the right to change these entities at its discretion to ensure the smooth sale of energy from these projects. However, only 170 MW of the planned 600 MW was allocated.
