Iberdrola has officially inaugurated its Operations and Maintenance (O&M) center in Saint-Brieuc, where a team of 80 professionals will oversee the offshore wind farm’s performance. This project plays a key role in advancing France’s energy independence, decarbonization goals, and industrial renewal.

Located in Binic-Étables-sur-Mer, the center operates 24/7, ensuring continuous monitoring, electricity production management, and maintenance of the wind farm. Initially, some activities will be coordinated with teams aboard the Goëlo Enabler service vessel (SOV) stationed at the port of Saint-Malo. In the next phase, operations will transition to the port of Armor in Saint-Quay-Portrieux.

Following consultations with local stakeholders, the port of Saint-Quay-Portrieux will host vessels responsible for daily maintenance. Iberdrola will finance port development works, benefiting the Côtes-d’Armor department, which owns the port and oversees the project’s implementation.

Spanning 75 km², the Saint-Brieuc offshore wind farm features 62 wind turbines with a total capacity of 496 MW, generating approximately 1,820 GWh annually—equivalent to 9% of Brittany’s electricity consumption and enough to power 835,000 people.
