POWERCHINA completed the back-energization of the 220-kilovolt substation for the 500-megawatt wind power project in the Gulf of Suez, Egypt, marking the transition to grid connection testing.
POWERCHINA faced multiple challenges, including tight construction resources and complex quality control for equipment. The team swiftly adjusted strategies, implemented an upgraded management approach for the substation contractor, optimized resource allocation, and dynamically reinforced its workforce to meet key project milestones.
Intensified efforts enhanced commissioning capabilities by deploying more engineers and management personnel, prioritizing the resolution of bottlenecks in critical tasks.

Located along the Red Sea coast, the wind power project has a total installed capacity of 500 MW and, once completed, will be one of the largest wind power projects in the region.
POWERCHINA is responsible for designing, procuring, and constructing key components. This includes wind turbine supply and transportation, foundations, hoisting platforms, collector lines, on-site roads, meteorological towers, the design, installation, and commissioning of the 33/220 kV substation, and access road construction.
