POWERCHINA has successfully completed the installation of all 111 wind turbines for the Zarafshan Wind Power EPC Project in Uzbekistan. The final turbine hub was accurately positioned at a height of 100 meters, marking a key milestone for the development.
As Uzbekistan’s first large-scale wind power facility, the Zarafshan project features a total installed capacity of 521.7 MW and is set to become the largest wind project in Central Asia. It will provide electricity to 500,000 households and cut carbon dioxide emissions by 1.1 million metric tons each year.
The project represents a significant advance in Uzbekistan’s energy transition and sustainable economic growth efforts.
The project team will now focus on completing the final wind turbine performance tests and achieving full-capacity grid integration.
