VSB Poland has successfully launched operations at its newest wind farm in the municipality of Pietrowice Wielkie, located in the Silesian region of southern Poland. The Racibórz wind farm is now generating renewable electricity with a total installed capacity of 41.6 megawatts (MW).
Powered by 13 Nordex N117 turbines, each rated at 3.2 MW, the wind farm is expected to supply clean energy to approximately 36,000 households annually. In doing so, it will help reduce carbon dioxide emissions by around 44,000 metric tons each year.
The commissioning of the Racibórz wind farm marks another milestone in VSB Group’s efforts to expand renewable energy infrastructure in Poland. Looking ahead, the company is placing increasing emphasis on hybrid energy projects that combine wind power, solar photovoltaics, and battery storage. These integrated systems enhance grid stability and optimize renewable energy production.
Hubert Kowalski, Managing Director of VSB Poland, noted, “Our current wind and PV projects demonstrate the great potential of the Polish market. We are accelerating this growth path with hybrid solutions from both worlds and through the integration of battery storage solutions. This increases supply security and improves the flexibility of the energy system. “With the commissioning of the Racibórz wind farm, we are sending a strong signal for a climate-friendly energy future in Poland and underline our role as an innovation leader in the field of renewable energies,” added Dr. Felix Grolman, CEO of the VSB Group.
