JSW Energy Limited has successfully commissioned 281 MW of new renewable energy capacity, comprising 215 MW of solar and 66 MW of wind projects. This addition brings the company’s total installed capacity to 12,499 MW and positions it to capitalize on the peak wind season to enhance renewable output.
With the latest commissioning, JSW Energy’s renewable portfolio now includes 3,482 MW of wind, 1,968 MW of solar, and 1,391 MW of hydro capacity. Renewable energy now accounts for 55% of the company’s total installed capacity.
In a separate development, JSW Renew Energy Three Limited, a wholly owned step-down subsidiary, has signed a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Adani Electricity Mumbai Limited for a 250 MW wind project. The project, located in Maharashtra, is expected to be commissioned within the next 24 months and will supply power at a tariff of ₹3.65 per kilowatt-hour.
JSW Energy currently has a total locked-in generation portfolio of 29.9 GW, including 12.5 GW operational capacity, 12.4 GW under construction across wind, thermal, and hydro, and a development pipeline of 4.9 GW. It also has 29.3 GWh of energy storage capacity locked in, comprising 26.4 GWh of pumped hydro and 2.9 GWh of battery storage.
The company aims to achieve 30 GW of generation capacity and 40 GWh of energy storage by FY 2030, with a long-term goal of becoming carbon neutral by 2050.
