Scatec ASA has signed a 25-year USD-denominated Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC) for a 900 MW wind project. The project will be developed through Scatec’s project company, Shadwan Wind Power SAE, as part of Egypt’s efforts to shift toward a greener, more sustainable energy mix.

Located in Ras Shukeir—an area known for some of the world’s best onshore wind resources—the project is poised to become a major contributor to Egypt’s renewable energy capacity. Following the PPA signing, wind measurements will be conducted at the site, with completion expected in the first half of 2026, ahead of progressing to financial close and construction.

“This project is a testament to Scatec’s position as one of the leading renewables companies in Egypt. We are now advancing four major renewables projects in the country, with a diversified technology base. I would like to thank all parties involved for making this happen with a particular acknowledgement to the skills and persistence of our Egyptian team” said Scatec CEO Terje Pilskog.
