Torrent Green Energy Private Limited, a subsidiary of Torrent Power Limited, has won a 300 MW wind power project through a competitive bidding process. The project is part of Solar Energy Corporation of India’s (SECI) Tranche-XVIII tender. SECI issued the tender in March 2025 to select developers for setting up 400 MW of inter-state transmission system (ISTS)–connected wind power projects. Torrent received the official Letter of Award from SECI on June 11, 2025.

The project will be developed at a tariff of ₹3.97 per unit and must be commissioned within 24 months from the signing of the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA). The total estimated investment for this project is around ₹2,650 crore. With the addition of this project, Torrent Power’s renewable energy capacity under development will increase to 3.3 GWp.

Torrent Power has been placing a strategic focus on renewables as a key growth area. The company’s move aligns with India’s national goal of achieving 500 GW of non-fossil fuel-based energy capacity by 2030. In addition to wind and solar, Torrent is also exploring other green energy technologies, such as pumped hydro and green hydrogen, as part of its broader clean energy roadmap.

The 300 MW win reinforces Torrent’s growing presence in the renewable energy sector. By securing this project, the company continues its efforts to strengthen its green energy portfolio and contribute to the country’s clean energy transition. SECI’s tender process under Tranche-XVIII, which is based on tariff-based competitive bidding, aims to accelerate the development of wind power projects in India, further supporting the government’s renewable energy goals.
