Suzlon Group, India’s leading wind energy solutions provider, has become the country’s first energy company to join the prestigious RE100 initiative, a global movement led by Climate Group in partnership with the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP). The company has pledged to power all 15 of its manufacturing facilities with 100% renewable energy by 2030, marking a significant step in sustainable industrial operations.

This milestone is part of Suzlon’s broader decarbonization strategy, which includes achieving carbon neutrality (Scope 1 and 2) by 2035 and Net Zero (Scope 1, 2 and 3) by 2040. The company has already recorded an 88.51% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 emission intensity and an 80.7% increase in renewable energy consumption in FY 2024–25. Notably, its Rotor Blade Unit in Dhule has achieved 100% renewable power, contributing to 92.87% carbon neutrality at the plant level.

“Joining RE100 is a powerful affirmation of our belief that true leadership in renewable energy begins at home,” said JP Chalasani, CEO of Suzlon Group. “We are not just delivering clean power to the world, but ensuring our operations themselves are powered by renewables, embedding sustainability into the DNA of our business.”
