The US Wind Force Foundation, Inc. (USWFF) announced today that it is now accepting applications for grant funding from the Pinnacle Wind Farm Community Benefit Fund. Clearway Energy Group, owner and operator of the 54-megawatt Pinnacle Wind Farm in Keyser, West Virginia, will provide $20,000 in grants to eligible nonprofits serving nearby communities.
Established in 2012, the Pinnacle Community Benefit Fund was created to support locally directed “bricks and mortar” projects. Pinnacle Wind contributed an initial $60,000 to launch the fund and has pledged $20,000 annually for the life of the project.
Clearway also owns and operates the Black Rock Wind Farm in Grant and Mineral counties, where it launched a similar Community Benefit Fund in 2022. Together, the Pinnacle and Black Rock programs have awarded more than $670,000 to local initiatives.
Grant applications must be postmarked by Monday, October 13, 2025.
Jim Cookman, President of USWFF and partner at Laurel Renewable Partners, Pinnacle’s original developer, said the foundation is proud to serve Mineral County and support its residents, particularly in times of need. He emphasized the foundation’s appreciation for community support and Clearway’s ongoing commitment.
