GE Vernova Inc. has announced an agreement with Greenvolt International Power to supply, install, and commission 42 of its 6.1 MW, 158-meter onshore wind turbines for the Ialomiţa wind farm in Romania. Once operational, the facility will have a total capacity of approximately 252 MW, contributing significantly to Romania’s renewable energy targets for 2030.

The agreement was recorded in the third quarter of 2025, with turbine deliveries scheduled to begin in 2026. The Ialomiţa wind farm is expected to generate enough clean electricity to power more than 110,000 homes and businesses annually, supporting the country’s transition to sustainable energy while reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

This project highlights GE Vernova’s continued commitment to advancing renewable energy deployment globally and delivering reliable, high-performance wind solutions. Gilan Sabatier, Chief Commercial Officer for GE Vernova’s Onshore Wind business in International Markets, said “We appreciate the confidence that Greenvolt has shown in GE Vernova’s teams and our technology.  This project reinforces the value of our workhorse product strategy and demonstrates our ability to add value for customers in Romania and across Europe.”
