The Nordex Group has announced a new order from Energieversorgung Mittelrhein (evm), Stadtwerke Karlsruhe, and Thüga Erneuerbare Energien for the 77 MW Schneifelhöhe wind farm in Germany. As part of the contract, Nordex will supply and install eleven N163/6.X turbines and provide long-term maintenance under a 20-year full-service agreement.

The Schneifelhöhe wind project is located on the forested Schneifel ridge in the Bitburg-Prüm district of Rhineland-Palatinate. The site’s elevation—ranging between 630 and 670 meters above sea level—offers strong wind conditions ideal for the Delta4000 series turbines. Each turbine will deliver a nominal output of 7 MW with a hub height of 164 meters.

Construction at the site commenced in October 2025, with commissioning expected in the second half of 2027.

Commenting on the announcement, Felipe Villalon Waldburg-Zeil, Director Sales Region Central at the Nordex Group, said: “We are very pleased to be making another important contribution to the energy transition in Rhineland-Palatinate and to sustainably strengthen the region’s energy security. Through our collaboration with Energieversorgung Mittelrhein (evm), Stadtwerke Karlsruhe, and Thüga Erneuerbare Energien, we are deploying advanced Delta4000 turbines tailored to the region’s wind profile. This combination of innovative technology and reliable partnership supports a sustainable, future-ready energy supply for local communities.”
