Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL) has successfully completed the auction to procure 250 MW of wind power capacity under Phase X of its grid-connected wind power projects. The auction attracted participation from four developers, with tariffs discovered in a narrow range of ₹3.43 to ₹3.44 per kWh, reflecting strong competition and growing maturity in the wind power sector.

Patel Infrastructure emerged as the largest winner in the auction, securing 100 MW of capacity at a tariff of ₹3.43 per kWh. Alfanar Power also won 50 MW at the same tariff of ₹3.43 per kWh. KP Energy and Powerica each secured 50 MW, with both projects awarded at a slightly higher tariff of ₹3.44 per kWh.

The tender was issued in September, when GUVNL launched the Request for Selection (RfS No. GUVNL / 250 MW / Wind (Phase X)) to procure power from new grid-connected wind projects in the state. In addition to the base capacity of 250 MW, the tender includes a greenshoe option that allows GUVNL to procure an additional 250 MW at the lowest discovered tariff, taking the total potential capacity to 500 MW.
