Masdar, the UAE’s clean energy giant, and Infinity Power have officially signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC) to supply renewable energy from a landmark onshore wind farm located in Ras Ghareb, in the Gulf of Suez region.

The wind farm, once completed, will have a capacity of 200 MW and is expected to generate 810,000 MWh annually. This project is projected to prevent 403,672 tonnes of CO2eq emissions per year, aligning with Egypt’s sustainability goals.

This project is part of Infinity Power’s ongoing efforts to expand its renewable energy portfolio across Africa. The company, the largest renewable energy provider on the continent, aims to achieve 10 GW of operational renewable energy capacity by 2030. This would enable the provision of electricity to 12 million homes across Africa by the end of the decade and contribute to the reduction of an estimated 15 to 20 million tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions annually.
