The scheme guidelines for the implementation of the VGF scheme for offshore wind energy projects are directed to convey the sanction of the president of India for the implementation of VGF scheme for the implementation of offshore wind energy projects of 1,000 MW capacity for the period from issuance of this order till FY 2031-32 with an outlay of ₹6853 crore.
The objective of these guidelines is to commission 1,000 MW of offshore wind energy projects. The scheme will be implemented as per the detailed scheme guidelines. The Guidelines for the competitive bidding process for awards of offshore wind power projects under this scheme are placed.
The expenditure on this scheme will be met from the budget provision given under the VGF for the establishment of 1000 MW offshore wind energy capacity. SECI shall be the implementing agency for the implementation of this scheme. This issue is in the exercise of the power conferred on this Ministry and with the concurrence of IFD vide their dated 11th September 2024. This has the approval of the MNRE.
