NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NREL), a wholly owned subsidiary of NTPC Limited, has invited bids for the development of a 215 MW wind power project in Madhya Pradesh. The project will be connected to a State Transmission Utility (STU) sub-station and will be developed under a comprehensive engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract.

The Invitation for Bids (IFB) was issued on September 15, 2026, under Bidding Document No. NRE-CS-5933-003-9. The tender is also listed on the Electronic Tender Services portal under Tender Search Code NTPCREL-2026-TN000037. Eligible domestic entities can participate through a single-stage, two-envelope bidding process involving techno-commercial and price bid evaluations.

The selected contractor will be responsible for the complete development of the wind project. The scope includes detailed engineering and design, micro-siting, manufacturing, supply, erection, testing, and commissioning of the wind power facilities. The project will use Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM)-listed Wind Turbine Generators (WTGs) with an individual rated capacity of at least 3.0 MW.

The contractor will also be responsible for land acquisition and obtaining required statutory approvals, clearances, and rights of way. The scope includes development of internal 33 kV evacuation infrastructure, pooling substations, central monitoring stations and external extra-high-voltage transmission lines up to the STU interconnection substation.

In addition, the successful bidder will have to conduct grid compliance studies and provide comprehensive operation and maintenance services for the project infrastructure for 10 years.

The tender document can be downloaded from September 15 to September 25, 2026, until 17:00 hours IST. The pre-bid conference and last date for submitting queries is September 28, 2026.

Bidders must submit their techno-commercial and price bids by October 9, 2026, at 15:00 hours IST. The techno-commercial bids will be opened on the same day at 15:30 hours IST.

There is no cost for the bidding document. However, bidders are required to submit an Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) of ₹20 crore. The EMD can be paid through electronic fund transfer or submitted in a separate sealed hard-copy envelope before the bid closing time. Bids without acceptable bid security will be treated as non-responsive.

Prospective bidders must meet specified financial and technical eligibility requirements, including an average annual turnover of ₹395.96 crore. They must also demonstrate relevant experience in wind or solar power projects or WTG manufacturing and have a positive net worth.

Interested entities must register on the ISN Electronic Tender Services portal and submit a signed Non-Disclosure Agreement. The tender represents an opportunity for eligible domestic companies to participate in the development of new utility-scale wind capacity in Madhya Pradesh.
