NTPC Limited has announced the commercial operation of 56.7 MW of additional wind power capacity in Gujarat through its renewable energy subsidiaries. The development was disclosed to the BSE Limited and the National Stock Exchange of India Limited in compliance with applicable SEBI regulations.
The newly commissioned capacities became commercially operational with effect from midnight on September 22, 2026. The additions comprise a 6.3 MW fourth-part capacity of the Vanki Wind Energy Project at Nakhatrana in Kutch district and a 50.4 MW first-part capacity of the Jamjodhpur Wind Energy Project in Jamnagar district.
Both projects form part of the larger 1,050 MW wind component being developed under the 500 MW REMCL Round-the-Clock (RTC) Project framework. The projects are being implemented through NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL), a step-down subsidiary of NTPC Limited operating under NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL).
Following the commissioning of these capacities, NTPC Group’s total installed capacity has increased to 91,221 MW, while its commercial capacity has reached 90,141 MW. The additions also strengthen the renewable energy portfolio of NTPC Green Energy and its group entities.
NGEL’s group installed capacity has risen to 10,977.23 MW, with commercial capacity reaching 10,920.53 MW. The latest wind power additions further expand NTPC’s presence in Gujarat, one of India’s major renewable energy development regions.
The commercial operation declaration was formally submitted by the respective companies under regulatory disclosure requirements. The expansion adds to NTPC Group’s growing renewable generation portfolio as it continues to develop wind, solar and other clean energy projects across India.
