Inox Wind Limited (IWL) has inked an exclusive agreement with Wind to Energy (W2E), a global technology and design provider for wind turbines. Together, they are launching the 4.X MW wind turbine generator (WTG), specifically designed for low wind regimes in India. Inox Wind has a consistent commitment to reducing the cost of wind energy for its clients, and the introduction of the 4.X MW turbine is another step in this direction. The 4.X MW WTG from W2E is a well-known platform. This addition to Inox Wind’s product portfolio, which already includes the 2 MW and 3 MW series.

The 4.X MW wind turbine, featuring a large rotor diameter, is expected to revolutionize the Indian wind industry by enhancing energy yields, reducing the levelized cost of energy (LCoE), and delivering superior performance in harnessing energy from low wind sites. Inox Wind currently manufactures and operates 2 MW and 3 MW turbines with various blade and tower configurations under existing perpetual licenses with AMSC, with whom IWL has a strong relationship. While the company plans to deploy its 4.X series WTGs at selected sites across the country, the 3 MW series, with access to most major wind sites, will remain the primary focus for installations over the next several years.

Mr. Kailash Tarachandani, CEO of Inox Wind, said, “The launch of 4.X MW wind turbines marks an important milestone for Inox Wind, as we continue on our exciting growth journey. These turbines can be upgraded with the use of boosters and will be available with multiple variants. This product reinforces our firm commitment to provide our clients with energy efficient, superior output products and ensures that Inox Wind continues to play a pioneering role in the wind turbine industry in India. With a robust balance sheet, strong promoter backing, exceptional EPC capabilities and a large order book, the launch of the 4.X MW series turbines secures IWL on the technological front for the next decade, and places it at a solid footing for achieving strong growth ahead.”
