Hitachi Energy partners with Pattern Energy for the SunZia Transmission HVDC link, using HVDC Light® technology to integrate wind power over 885 kilometers efficiently. Slated to launch in 2025, it will boost sustainable energy availability in the region. EnCompass™ is Hitachi Energy’s partnership-focused service portfolio, marking a shift in its life cycle approach. This order reaffirms Hitachi Energy’s dedication to enduring partnerships, leveraging its history of delivering innovative and dependable energy solutions.

Once finished, SunZia Wind will create 3,515 MW, to power around three million Americans. Its HVDC link will transmit up to 3,000 MW to Arizona, featuring the largest VSC installation in the US and among the world’s longest HVDC connections.

“We’re proud to be selected once again to provide our unique service expertise to keep the important SunZia link operating at maximum efficiency, performance, and reliability,” said Andreas Berthou, global head of the HVDC business at Hitachi Energy. “With our service solutions, we are building a partnership ecosystem to ensure continued support to the HVDC link throughout its lifetime, delivering cutting edge digital service with sustainability and customer-value at its core.”
