Enfinity Global, a leading renewable energy company, has secured connectivity for 2 GW of utility-scale solar and wind projects in India, spanning the states of Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Karnataka. This marks a significant milestone in the company’s expansion efforts and its contribution to India’s energy transition.

The 2 GW portfolio is projected to generate electricity sufficient to power around 4.7 million households and reduce CO2 emissions by 49 million metric tons annually. The generated power will primarily serve government utilities and commercial and industrial (C&I) customers.

Carlos Domenech, CEO of Enfinity Global, emphasized, “This milestone reinforces our commitment to advancing India’s renewable energy transition, helping the country achieve its target of 500 GW of non-fossil fuel energy capacity by 2030.” He also highlighted the company’s strategic position in India, leveraging both global presence and local expertise to meet long-term energy needs.

With over 1 GW of projects expected to break ground this year, including in Maharashtra and Karnataka in Q1 2025, Enfinity’s total renewable energy portfolio in India has now reached approximately 3.3 GW. This includes 240 MW already operational, 2 GW with granted connectivity, and 1 GW in development, which also features the recently awarded 300 MW Solar-Wind Hybrid project through SJVN’s competitive bidding process in Q4 2024.

Looking ahead, Enfinity plans to develop and commission renewable power plants that will supply over 5 GWh of renewable electricity annually over the next three years. To support these developments, the company has secured substantial financial backing, including a $135 million junior financing agreement with the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPP Investments) to fund solar and wind projects across India.
