Senvion India has secured a repeat order from KP Energy Limited for the supply of 20 wind turbine generators (WTGs) from its 4XM platform, featuring the 4.2M160 turbine. The turbines will be deployed in Bharuch district, Gujarat, with deliveries scheduled for the fourth quarter of FY26.
The scope of the project includes supply, supervision, and a comprehensive operations and maintenance (O&M) contract. This 84 MW project will be among the early commercial installations of the 4.2M160—Senvion’s most powerful turbine to date—engineered to provide high energy output in low-wind environments and tailored for diverse Indian site conditions.
The 4.2M160 turbine, designed with a 160-meter rotor and hub heights of up to 140 meters, represents Senvion’s commitment to innovation and localization. The turbine features an indigenously developed blade and advanced control systems that adapt to fluctuating conditions to ensure consistent performance and reduced structural loads. Designed by R&D teams in India and Germany and manufactured locally, the turbine supports the company’s “Make in India, for India and the world” philosophy.
Commenting on the new order, Amit Kansal, CEO and Managing Director of Senvion India, said, “We are pleased to continue our partnership with KP Energy. We are thankful to KP Energy for being an early adopter of new technologies. Senvion builds world-class technologies with one of the highest levels of localization in India, backed by solid Indo-German R&D to ensure suitability for the Indian grid and environment.”
Dr. Faruk G. Patel, Managing Director of KP Energy Limited, stated, “At KP Energy, we prioritize collaborations with partners who share our commitment to performance and timely execution. Senvion’s strong technical expertise, responsive field support, and continuous improvement mindset provide us with the confidence to plan and execute future projects with agility. The 4.2M160 platform offers us the opportunity to enhance generation capacity efficiently while optimizing lifecycle costs. Backed by over three decades of experience in delivering renewable energy solutions across India, the KP Group remains steadfast in its mission to expand its green energy footprint and support our customers in achieving their growth and energy goals through clean and sustainable power.”
The 4.2M160 is compliant with Indian grid codes and features a modular architecture, enabling site-specific configurations and simplified servicing. With over 85% localization and an annual manufacturing capacity exceeding 1,000 MW, Senvion India is strategically positioned to support the growing demand from independent power producers across the country.
