SJVN has announced the winners of its auction for procuring 600 MW of interstate transmission system (ISTS)-connected wind power under Phase-IV. The auction is part of the company’s efforts to expand its renewable energy portfolio and support India’s growing demand for clean electricity.

The competitive bidding process saw four renewable energy companies secure capacities through reverse bidding, with developers competing to offer the lowest tariff for long-term wind power supply.

Adyant Enersol, a subsidiary of Datta Infra, emerged as the largest winner, securing 200 MW at the lowest discovered tariff of ₹3.64 per kWh. Green Prairie Energy, a subsidiary of Hero Future Energies, was awarded 140 MW at ₹3.65 per kWh.

Refex Green Power secured another 100 MW at the same tariff of ₹3.65 per kWh. State-owned NLC India won 160 MW at a tariff of ₹3.66 per kWh. Together, the four successful bidders account for the full 600 MW capacity offered under the tender.

The tender was originally floated in September last year as part of SJVN’s plans to procure additional renewable power and strengthen its contribution to India’s clean energy transition.

Under the tender conditions, successful developers will be responsible for developing the wind power projects and arranging the required transmission infrastructure for connecting the projects to the interstate grid.

The auction is expected to facilitate long-term power purchase agreements between SJVN and the selected developers. The competitive tariffs could also help improve cost efficiency in renewable power procurement while supporting greater integration of wind energy into India’s electricity system.

The 600 MW allocation adds to SJVN’s broader renewable energy expansion strategy and aligns with India’s efforts to increase non-fossil power generation and accelerate the transition towards a lower-carbon electricity grid.
