Siemens Energy Unveils ‘Omterra’ as New Independent Brand, Unifying Siemens Gamesa Under a Single Global Renewable Energy Identity

Siemens Energy has announced plans to transition to an independent corporate brand, unveiling Omterra as its new global identity as the company prepares to move beyond the time-limited licensing agreement governing the use of the Siemens name.

The rebranding follows Siemens Energy’s spin-off from Siemens AG in 2020 and reflects the company’s strategic, operational and financial progress over the past several years. The transition process is scheduled to begin later this year and will be implemented in phases.

As part of the rebranding, Siemens Energy and Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy will operate under a unified corporate identity, with Omterra serving as the single brand across the group’s businesses.

According to the company, the new brand has been chosen to reflect its global presence, technological expertise and long-term commitment to delivering reliable energy solutions worldwide. The rebranding is intended to establish a distinct corporate identity while maintaining the company’s existing strategic direction.

Commenting on the announcement, Christian Bruch, Chief Executive Officer of Siemens Energy, said the company had always recognized that its rights to use the Siemens Energy brand were governed by a time-limited licensing agreement following the spin-off from Siemens AG. He noted that Siemens Energy has since strengthened its strategic position, improved profitability, gained the confidence of customers and investors, and is now well positioned to establish its own independent brand.

Bruch added that while the Siemens name played an important role in supporting the company’s transition to independence, the new identity represents the next phase of its evolution as it continues to contribute to the global energy transition.

Siemens Energy said the rebranding will not affect its strategic priorities or business operations. Customers, partners and employees can expect business continuity throughout the phased rollout, with the company’s focus on advancing reliable and sustainable energy infrastructure remaining unchanged.
