Inox Wind’s 3 MW Turbine Achieves Type Certification from TUV SUD

Inox Wind, a company at the forefront of providing wind energy solutions in India, announced today that TUV SUD, a renowned global certification body headquartered in Germany, has awarded a Type Certificate to Inox Wind for their cutting-edge 3 MW wind turbine. 

The new-gen turbine has a booster capacity of up to 3.3 MW. The certification validates that the prototype turbine has successfully fulfilled the necessary criteria for mass production and deployment. TUV SUD’s certification process involved rigorous testing and verification, adhering to the globally recognized standard IEC 61400-22. The Type Certificate holds worldwide validity. Headquartered in Germany, TUV SUD is an internationally acclaimed certification body known for its expertise in delivering comprehensive services such as testing, inspection, certification, and advisory solutions. The issue of the Type Certificate confirms the theoretical design calculations for Inox Wind’s 3 MW wind turbine are in line with the turbines’ expected performance based on field measurements.

Inox Wind has joined hands with AMSC as its technology partner to create a 3 MW turbine. This turbine stands out with its impressive specifications, including a 100 m tubular tower and a rotor diameter of 145 m, making it one of the largest in its category. Thanks to its compact design, this wind turbine provides one of the most cost-effective energy solutions per unit. It reduces production, transportation, and logistics costs, as well as installation expenses, giving Inox Wind a sustainable advantage in the Indian WTG market.
