NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL) has announced the commercial operation of the second part capacity of 6.3 MW of the Vanki Wind Energy Project in Nakhatrana, Kutch, Gujarat. The capacity was declared commercially operational with effect from 00:00 hours on September 13, 2026.
The project has been developed by NTPC Renewable Energy Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of NGEL and a step-down subsidiary of NTPC Limited. The declaration marks another addition to the renewable energy portfolio of the NTPC group.
Following the commissioning of the 6.3 MW capacity, the total commercial capacity of the NGEL group has increased to 10,842.86 MW from 10,836.56 MW. The company continues to expand its renewable energy portfolio through wind and solar power projects across India.
At the broader group level, NTPC Limited said its total installed capacity now stands at 91,086 MW, while its commercial capacity has reached 90,006 MW.
The Vanki Wind Energy Project is located in Gujarat’s Kutch region, which has emerged as a major hub for renewable energy development due to its strong wind and solar resources. The latest commissioning further strengthens NTPC’s presence in the renewable energy segment and contributes to its growing clean-energy generation capacity.
