Iberdrola, through its UK subsidiary Scottish Power, bagged two contracts in the UK government’s sixth Contracts for Difference (CfD) auction, enabling the company to supply over 1,000 MW of clean energy to more than one million homes.

These contracts include the East Anglia TWO project, with a capacity of 963 MW, located near the existing East Anglia ONE, which has been generating clean energy for 630,000 UK homes since 2020. Additionally, a new contract for 158 MW of the East Anglia THREE project has been awarded, bringing the total capacity of this project to 1,400 MW. Currently under construction, East Anglia THREE is set to produce emission-free energy for 1.3 million homes by 2026.

This initiative underscores Iberdrola’s commitment to advancing the energy transition and supporting the UK government’s goals for climate neutrality and energy independence. The East Anglia offshore wind projects will also drive significant economic investment, boosting employment and business opportunities across the East of England. Building on the success of East Anglia ONE, Iberdrola will continue to collaborate with local authorities and universities during the construction of East Anglia TWO and THREE to maximize economic benefits for the region.
