The Andhra Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission issued a decision on September 25, 2024, addressing five cases involving Aeolus Wind Parks, Danu Wind Parks, Fujin Wind Parks, and Dindore Wind Parks against the Southern Power Distribution Company of Andhra Pradesh and the Andhra Pradesh Power Coordination Committee (APPCC). The petitions raised concerns over the non-compliance with an earlier order issued in February 2024, which set a schedule for paying late payment surcharges (LPS).
Despite the previous ruling, the Finance Director of APTRANSCO, who is also a member of APPCC, had created a different payment schedule in violation of the Commission’s order. The Commission took this seriously and demanded the personal appearance of key APPCC officials. At the hearing, an affidavit was submitted on behalf of the APPCC, acknowledging the mistake and confirming that the incorrect payment schedule had been withdrawn. The affidavit also mentioned that efforts to clear the dues had already begun, with ₹7.8 crore paid out of the ₹44 crore total.
The Commission directed that the remaining balance be paid within 30 days, and if there are any disputes regarding the calculations, a reconciliation process should take place. Additionally, a token cost of ₹10,000 was imposed on the respondents for violating the previous order. The case was concluded with these instructions.
