Suzlon and Torrent Power have reached a significant milestone by achieving 1 GW of wind energy capacity in India through a new 486 MW hybrid order. This collaboration aligns with India’s goal of generating 50% of its electricity from renewable sources and supports the Make in India initiative.
As part of the agreement, Suzlon will provide 162 advanced S144 wind turbine generators with Hybrid Lattice Towers, each with a capacity of 3 MW. These turbines will be installed in the Bhogat region of Gujarat, contributing to the growing share of renewable energy in the state.
Girish Tanti, Vice Chairman of Suzlon Group, highlighted the importance of this partnership with Torrent Power. He expressed pride in the decade-long collaboration, which has resulted in 1 GW of cumulative orders in Gujarat and Karnataka. Tanti emphasized that this partnership is based on trust, innovation, and a shared vision for sustainable energy. He noted that the combined efforts have leveraged advanced technologies to deliver quality power to nearly 1 million households in India. Tanti reaffirmed Suzlon’s commitment to driving India’s energy transition and building a sustainable future.
