CleanMax, a leading renewable energy and net-zero solutions provider for the Commercial and Industrial (C&I) sector, and a Brookfield-backed company, has signed a Power Purchase Agreement with Amazon to develop a 100 MW renewable energy project.
The agreement aligns with Amazon’s Climate Pledge, supporting its goal to match the electricity consumption of its operations with renewable energy and achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2040. “CleanMax is proud to be enabling new renewable energy opportunities in India with Amazon. As a company that has always championed sustainability, CleanMax is elated to collaborate with Amazon to help decarbonize its operations while also advancing India’s green energy landscape,” said Kuldeep Jain, Managing Director of CleanMax.
This partnership highlights the growing commitment of global tech companies to sustainability in India. As part of the agreement, CleanMax will develop and operate a 100 MW wind energy project in Koppal, Karnataka. Connected to India’s national grid, the project is expected to be operational by Q2 2026, generating approximately 355 million kWh of clean electricity annually and offsetting 252,000 tons of CO₂—equivalent to planting nearly 14.8 million trees each year.
