Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL) has completed the auction for its 250 MW Wind Power Projects Phase XI tender, with the bidding process attracting strong participation from developers. The auction resulted in competitive tariff discovery, with the final tariffs ranging between ₹3.51 and ₹3.52 per kWh, reflecting continued interest in India’s wind energy sector.

A total of four developers emerged as successful bidders. NLC India Renewables secured the largest allocation of 100 MW at a tariff of ₹3.51 per kWh. Juniper Green Energy won 50 MW at the same tariff, while Powerica also secured 50 MW by quoting ₹3.51 per kWh. Cu-Built Renewable Energy received the remaining 50 MW with a tariff of ₹3.52 per kWh.

The tender was issued in May 2026 as part of GUVNL’s ongoing efforts to expand renewable energy procurement and support Gujarat’s clean energy transition. The Request for Selection (RfS) No. GUVNL/250 MW/Wind (Phase XI), dated April 30, 2026, invited developers to set up wind power projects for supplying electricity under long-term agreements.

An important feature of the tender is the Greenshoe Option, which gives GUVNL the flexibility to procure an additional 250 MW beyond the initial 250 MW capacity. If exercised, the total procurement under the tender could increase to 500 MW, depending on the response from developers and the tariffs discovered during the bidding process.

The successful completion of the auction highlights the growing competitiveness of wind power in India and reinforces Gujarat’s position as one of the country’s leading states in renewable energy development. Competitive tariffs and healthy participation are expected to support the state’s clean energy targets while encouraging further investments in the wind power sector.
