Capcora, Frankfurt am Main, a consulting firm specialized in real assets, advised a family office from southern Germany
on the sale of the operational Niedergörsdorf wind farm consisting of five wind turbines. The purchaser is Stadtwerke Heidenheim AG – Group (“Stadtwerke AG”), which is expanding its portfolio by a capacity of 15 MW with the
acquisition. The parties have agreed not to disclose the identity of the seller or the purchase price. The consulting firm Capcora acted as sell-side advisor for the transaction.
Stadtwerke AG complements its existing renewable energy portfolio with five additional wind turbines of the Niedergörsdorf wind farm in Brandenburg, which was acquired in March 2021 with retroactive effect to 01/01/2021.
The wind farm is located in the municipality of Niedergörsdorf (Teltow-Fläming) in Brandenburg and consists of a total of five wind turbines of the type ENERCON E-115 with a hub height of 149 meters, a rotor diameter of 115 meters and a rated power of 3,000 kilowatts (kW) each. The wind turbines were commissioned in December 2017.
The five wind turbines feed over 34.6 million kilowatt hours (kWh) of CO2-free electrical energy into the power grid annually. This amount of energy generated from renewable sources arithmetically covers the annual electricity demand of around 11,500 households and corresponds to a saving of around 35,900 tons of CO2 per year compared to energy generation in a fossil-fuel power plant.
The acquisition of the Niedergörsdorf wind farm provides an optimal addition to Stadtwerke AG’s green self-generation portfolio.
Stadtwerke AG prevailed as the preferred partner in a bidding process conducted by Capcora.
“We are pleased to have contributed to the Niedergörsdorf wind farm finding a new owner. This transaction clearly demonstrated that technical and economic optimizations of existing projects for sale can generate added value for both
buyer and seller,” said Henning Prigge, Director Energy & Infrastructure at Capcora.
