Siemens Gamesa has received a 913 MW order from Orsted, a firm order that puts it in the forefront of Germany’s offshore revolution. The 913 MW total export capability is located 50km off the coast of Lower Saxony, Germany’s North Sea.
Siemens Gamesa was awarded a multiyear contract to service the turbines.

Borkum Riffgrund 3 installation is anticipated to start in 2024. Commissioning is expected to take place in 2025. On March 4, 2020, Orsted and Siemens Gamesa announced a preferred supplier agreement for Borkum Rifgrund 3.
The SG 11.0-200 DD machine which will be used fearures a capacity of 11 MW and a 200-meter rotor. The machine uses 97-meter-long Siemens Gamesa Gamesa B97 blades with a massive 31,400 m2 sweep area.
