NovaWind, ROSATOM’s wind power division, and An Xuan Energy representatives signed a cooperation agreement to build a Vietnamese wind farm. This agreement envisages a partnership for the construction of a 128 MW wind farm in Son La Province, north-western Vietnam.
Nguyen Quang Louan, CEO of An Xuan Energy, and Grigoriy Nazarov (CEO NovaWind) signed the document.
“We are ready to use our expertise on an international scale because we have a lot of experience as a Russian wind power project developer. Rosatom has already implemented a number of projects in Vietnam in science and energy, and these areas are growing. “Wind power projects will both contribute to energy security and industrial growth of the region, and accelerate the country’s transition to a renewable energy mix,” Grigoriy Nazarrov stated.
“We are excited to sign a cooperation agreement in Son La Province with NovaWind, Rosatom’s wind power division. It will have economic and social benefits for the country, the Vietnamese energy system, as well as the people of the province.” Nguyen Quang Lian stated that they are determined to work with NovaWind in order to achieve the successful commerce operation planned.
An Xuan Energy JSC, an energy investment and development company, specializes in the development of power power projects including solar, wind, and biomass. The company was founded in 2017 and has three hydropower sites that have a combined capacity of 72.5 MW. There are also two hydropower plants currently under development, with a total of 40 MW. An Xuan Energy also has been working on a renewable pipeline for 140MW solar energy and 430MW wind power in Vietnam.
NovaWind, ROSATOM’s wind energy division was established in September 2017. The company combines ROSATOM’s expertise in wind power generation from design and construction through to mechanical engineering and the operation of wind farms. NovaWind currently has 720 MW of wind energy capacity.
