Vestas received a 104 MW order from Pinta y Guindalera wind farm, which is located in Valladolid (Castilla y Leon), Spain. The contract covers the supply and installation 23 V150-4.5MW wind turbines. It also includes a 10-year Active Output Management (4000) service agreement.

Estudios y Proyectos Pradamap (Grupo Vapat), the renewable energy producer, placed the order. The company has built 650 MW wind power plants that are currently operating in Spain. Grupo Vapat currently develops 1,000 MW more renewable capacity in the country. Building on the commercial success of the V150-4.2 MW wind turbine, the V150-4.5 MW delivers an increased annual energy production with an expanded global market applicability.

“We would like to thank Pradamap, (Grupo Vapat) for their trust in Vestas 4MW platform.” Vestas General Manager Spain and Portugal, Agustin Sanchez Tembleque, says that the full converter technology gives our customers the reliability they require to operate in Spain’s grid marked by increasing renewable energy participation.

In 2023, turbine delivery and commissioning will be completed.

Vestas’ Spanish presence will be a benefit to the project. V150 blades are manufactured at the company’s blade factory in Daimiel, Ciudad Real. These blades can be used for both the EnVentus and 4 MW platforms. Vestas has installed over 5GW of wind turbine capacity in Spain since 1991 when it installed its first windmill. This is equivalent to 130 wind parks across the country.
