Suzlon Group, a provider of renewable energy solutions, has received a fresh contract for the development of a 50.4 MW wind power project for Sembcorp’s renewables business, Green Infra Wind Energy.

Suzlon will deploy 24 wind turbine generators (WTGs) with 2.1 MW rated capacity and hybrid lattice tubular (HLT) towers. The project is in Karnataka and is scheduled to be completed in 2024.

Sembcorp obtained this order from the Railway Energy Management Company (REMCL) through a tariff-based bidding process.

Suzlon will supply the wind turbines (equipment supply) and complete the project, including construction and commissioning, as well as comprehensive operation and maintenance services after commissioning.

Sembcorp has generation assets in 13 states and a presence in 18 states in India, with a portfolio of more than three GW of wind and solar energy. Suzlon’s products are designed for a variety of wind regimes, and its turbines include 80 to 90 percent local content, based on a thriving value chain.
