Vestas Lands Mega 161 MW Order from Neoen and Prokon for Finnish Wind Projects

Vestas has bagged an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) order for two wind projects in Finland. The Lumivaara and Storbötet wind farms, jointly owned by Neoen and Prokon have a combined capacity of 161 MW.

The Storbötet project, located in the municipality of Uusikaarlepyy, will consist of 17 V162-6.2 MW wind turbines, totaling 105 MW. The Lumivaara project, situated in the municipality of Hyrynsalmi, will feature nine V162-6.2 MW wind turbines, with a total capacity of 56 MW.

Vestas will also provide comprehensive service for the turbines through a 20-year Active Output Management 5000 (AOM 5000) service agreement. This agreement is designed to ensure the optimal performance and efficiency of the wind farm assets. The delivery of turbines for both projects commence in the early Q3 of 2024 and both wind farms are scheduled to commissioned in 2025.
