In the recent auction conducted by the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) for interstate transmission system (ISTS)-connected wind power projects (Tranche-XIV), Green Prairie Energy (EverGreen Power), Apraava Energy, and SJVN Green Energy emerged as the winners. The total capacity awarded in the auction is 690 MW, as per the L1+2% tariff cut-off criteria mentioned in the tender.
Green Prairie Energy, a special-purpose vehicle of EverGreen Power, secured 190 MW by quoting a tariff of ₹3.18/kWh. Apraava Energy and SJVN Green Energy won 300 MW and 200 MW respectively, both quoting a tariff of ₹3.24/kWh.
The auction was initiated in February of this year, and only wind turbine models listed in the ‘Revised List of Models and Manufacturers’ issued by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy will be permitted for deployment under the program. It is worth noting that the responsibility of acquiring the necessary land for setting up the wind projects lies with the developers.
These developments reflect the continued growth and commitment towards renewable energy in India, as companies compete to secure contracts and contribute to the country’s renewable energy targets.
