Vestas has been awarded a contract by Greenbacker Capital Management, a prominent renewable energy asset manager, to provide power for the Moscow Wind project located in Maine, USA. The contract includes delivery of 14 V150-4.2 MW turbines for a total capacity of 59 MW.
As per the terms of the agreement, Vestas will handle the supply, delivery, and commissioning of the turbines. Additionally, the contract includes a long-term service agreement known as Active Output Management 5000 (AOM 5000), which is designed to optimize the performance of the wind farm.
The delivery of the turbines is slated to commence in the second quarter of 2024, and commissioning is expected to be completed by the third quarter of the same year.
“We look forward to partnering with Greenbacker and transforming this unique site, which housed a former Air Force radar defense system, into a clean energy hub,” said Laura Beane, President of Vestas North America. “The Moscow Wind project will help bring Maine one step closer to achieving its goal of 100% of the state’s electricity coming from renewable resources by 2050.”
