Suzlon Group, a pioneer of renewable energy solutions in India, has secured a new order for the construction of a wind power project with a capacity of 100.8 MW. The project will be developed for Everrenew Energy Private Limited. Suzlon plans to install 48 wind turbine generators (WTGs) from their S120 – 2.1 MW series, utilizing a Hybrid Lattice Tubular tower design. The project is located at Velliyanani Phase II in Karur district and Vengaimandalam in Trichy, Tamil Nadu, and is slated to be commissioned by March 2024. Apart from supplying the wind turbines, Suzlon will oversee the execution and commissioning of the project.
The project will power 65 thousand households and curb approximately 2.58 lakh tonnes of CO2 emissions annually. The electricity generated will be for captive consumption and powering C&I customers.
JP Chalasani, Chief Executive Officer, Suzlon Group said, “We are delighted to announce our first order with Everrenew Energy Private Limited. Suzlon takes pride in valued customers like Everrenew Energy, one of India’s fast‐growing renewable energy Project Management companies. They have put their trust in our leading technology and comprehensive capabilities throughout the wind energy value chain. The Power generated from this project will target the Commercial & Industrial (C&I) consumer segment, creating deeper penetration of renewable energy in India. Suzlon is committed to driving Indian industries toward their net‐zero targets and powering the domestic economy with green energy.”
Each Suzlon turbine, with a domestic content ranging from 80% to 90%, stands a testament to the company’s commitment to the vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat (self-reliant India). These turbines are manufactured within the country, strengthening the domestic value chain. Suzlon’s turbines incorporate the proven Doubly Fed Induction Generator (DFIG) technology, which effectively integrates wind turbines into the utility grid to fulfill grid requirements. Suzlon’s ongoing R&D efforts focus on enhancing turbine performance, maximizing energy extraction from low wind areas, and reducing the overall cost of energy.
Venkatesh R, Chief Executive Officer, Everrenew Energy Private Limited said, “At Everrenew Energy, we share a common sense of purpose to shape a more sustainable future by generating clean energy for our customers. Our endeavours into wind energy projects are an extension of that commitment.
