In a recent development in India’s renewable energy sector, the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has issued a Request for Selection (RfS) document, inviting Wind Power Developers to participate in the competitive bidding process for the establishment of 1350 MW Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS)-connected Wind Power Projects. This initiative, known as SECI-Tranche-XVI, aims to boost the country’s wind energy capacity through a tariff-based competitive bidding system.

Interested developers are required to pay a non-refundable document fee of INR 29,500, inclusive of GST, to be submitted through NEFT/RTGS transfer along with their RfS response. Additionally, a bid processing fee is applicable, with Rs. 5 lakh plus 18% GST for projects ranging from 50 MW to 90 MW and Rs. 15 lakh plus 18% GST for projects of 100 MW and above.

To ensure commitment, developers must provide an Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) of INR 12,64,000 per MW per Project in the form of a Bank Guarantee along with their RfS response. The bid submission deadlines are set for January 10, 2024, for soft copies and January 12, 2024, for hard copies, with the bid open date scheduled for January 15, 2024.
