RECPDCL Grants LOAs to Avaada Energy and Juniper Green for 100 MW Wind Power Projects

RECPDCL, a subsidiary of REC Limited, recently facilitated the transfer of five project-specific Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs) formed for Inter State Transmission Projects. These projects, awarded through a tariff-based competitive bidding process by the Ministry of Power, Government of India, saw successful bids from entities like Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL), Indigrid 2 Limited & Indigrid 1 Limited Consortium, and Apraava Energy Private Limited.

The handover ceremony, which took place on February 9th, 2024, was attended by RECPDCL’s CEO, Shri Rajesh Kumar, along with senior officials from various stakeholders including REC Limited, PGCIL, Central Electricity Authority (CEA), and CTUIL. Shri Rajesh Kumar emphasized RECPDCL’s commitment to supporting renewable energy reforms in alignment with the directives of Union Minister for Power and New & Renewable Energy, Shri R. K. Singh, and Power Secretary, Shri Pankaj Agarwal.

Additionally, RECPDCL awarded Letters of Award (LOAs) to M/s Avaada Energy Private Limited and M/s Juniper Green Energy Private Limited for 100 MW wind power projects under the Ministry of Power’s “Scheme for flexibility in Generation and Scheduling of Thermal / Hydro Power Stations through bundling with Renewable Energy and Storage Power.”

REC Limited, established in 1969, focuses on financing and development within the power sector across India, while RECPDCL provides consultancy and project implementation services to numerous state power distribution companies and power departments. Acting as a Bid Process Coordinator (BPC) for Tariff Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) projects, RECPDCL also executes critical infrastructure projects in the UT of J&K and Ladakh under Prime Minister’s Development Package initiatives. Their expertise contributes significantly to the power sector’s growth and development nationwide.
