Vestas reported a strong Q4 order intake, highlighted by three substantial projects in Japan. These projects represent a significant boost to Vestas’ presence in the Asia-Pacific region.

The largest portion of the order comprises two undisclosed projects totalling 17 V117-4.2 MW turbines. The combined projects of nearly 72 MW showcase the continued demand for Vestas’ proven technology in the Japanese market and underscore Vestas’ strong relationships with key customers in the region. The details of the customers and specific project locations remain undisclosed at this time.

Complementing the undisclosed orders is a substantial repowering project at the JRE Sakata Wind Farm. This 21 MW project, undertaken for GK JRE Shin Sakata Furyoku, a joint venture between ENEOS Renewable Energy Corporation and Tohoku Electric Power Co., Inc., will feature 5 V136-4.2 MW turbines. This upgrade demonstrates the increasing focus on optimizing existing wind farm capacity and enhancing energy production.

All three projects include comprehensive long-term Active Output Management (AOM) 5000 service agreements, ensuring optimized performance and maximizing energy output over the lifespan of the turbines. Delivery and commissioning for all projects are planned for 2026. These orders reaffirm Vestas’ commitment to the Japanese wind energy market and its position as a leading provider of sustainable energy solutions.
