Ørsted has successfully completed the sale of 12.45% minority stakes in four of its operational UK offshore wind farms: Hornsea 1, Hornsea 2, Walney Extension, and Burbo Bank Extension. This transaction, initially announced on 30 October 2024, marks the culmination of Ørsted’s agreement with Brookfield and its institutional partners.

The transaction was valued at GBP 1.745 billion (approx. DKK 15.7 billion). Brookfield pursued this acquisition through Brookfield Infrastructure Fund V, the world’s largest closed-end infrastructure fund.

Ørsted retains a 37.55% stake in the four wind farms, maintaining control, governance, and operational oversight under existing service agreements. The assets remain fully operational with long-term inflation-linked CfDs.

The divestment reinforces Ørsted’s commitment to its strategic farm-down programme while enabling Brookfield to further expand its renewable energy portfolio with a combined offshore capacity of approximately 3.5 GW.
