Envision Energy India has signed significant agreements with Juniper Green Energy (JGE) for the supply of wind turbines and energy storage systems, marking a major step forward in India’s renewable energy sector. The partnership involves the delivery of 200 EN 182|5MW wind turbine generators (WTGs) and the company’s first-ever 320 MWh battery energy storage systems (BESS), aimed at projects across wind-rich states. These projects are part of JGE’s ongoing efforts to contribute to India’s renewable energy transition.
The wind turbines supplied by Envision feature an advanced 182-meter rotor diameter and a hub height of 140 meters, designed specifically to suit the wind and site conditions found in India. The turbines are part of Envision’s 5MW platform, which has been proven successful in markets like the MENA region, Southeast Asia, and China. The key advantages of the EN 182|5MW platform include a 40% increase in annual energy output compared to the 3.3MW turbine, along with the lowest levelized cost of energy (LCoE). The platform also requires fewer land parcels, reducing challenges related to acquiring rights of way.
In addition to the wind turbines, Envision will supply its innovative 320 MWh BESS, which will be powered by high-performance, high-safety lithium-ion 315Ah cells. The energy storage solution will be integrated with an AIoT-based Energy Management System and a 3.45 MW Power Conversion System (PCS) unit, ensuring optimal performance and safety. All components of the BESS, including the storage unit, cells, and management system, are designed and manufactured by Envision to meet the highest global standards. The company will also provide comprehensive lifecycle operation and maintenance services for the energy storage systems.
Naresh Mansukhani, CEO of Juniper Green Energy, expressed confidence in the partnership, highlighting it as a significant milestone in their strategic collaboration with Envision. He emphasized that these agreements, combined with a previous order for 300 MW of wind turbines, will help JGE achieve its goal of building 10 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030. Mansukhani believes the collaboration will drive India’s energy transition and contribute to the nation’s sustainability objectives.
RPV Prasad, Managing Director of Envision Energy India, shared his enthusiasm about the expanded partnership with Juniper, calling it a proud moment for the company. He stressed that the new agreements will help Envision continue its mission to support industrial decarbonization efforts while providing high-quality, safe, and efficient energy solutions. Envision’s commitment to a customer-first approach, along with a focus on quality and safety, has made it a trusted partner in the renewable energy sector.
Kane Xu, Senior Vice President of Envision Energy, also commented on the partnership, highlighting the importance of battery storage technology in sustainable energy systems. Xu noted that Envision is excited to contribute its leading-edge storage technology to India’s renewable energy landscape through this collaboration with Juniper.
The agreement also signals JGE’s broader commitment to advancing India’s renewable energy goals. Recently, JGE signed an agreement with First Solar for the procurement of 1 GW of advanced Series 7 FT1 cadmium telluride thin-film photovoltaic modules. The company has also signed Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) with organizations like SJVN, GUVNL, and NTPC, further reinforcing its position in the renewable energy sector.
Together, these initiatives show a clear and ongoing commitment to renewable energy, contributing to India’s efforts to expand its clean energy infrastructure and meet its sustainability targets.
